In April 1977, Steve Jobs introduced the new Apple computer the Apple II to the public. The Apple II was an, highly successful, improvement from an earlier Apple computer. It was also the first successfully mass-produced microcomputer and the first popular personal computer. The new Apple II computer was an 8-bit home computer able to store information on an external floppy disk drive and included a color display and a graphical user interface. The most important and impressive part of the Apple II was the 8 expansion slots in the motherboard. This allowed hobbyists to to add additional storage cards made by Apple and other manufacturing companies. The advanced tech for its time and storage cababilities is a large reason why the Apple II was a large stepping stone to creating the famous computer: Apple Macintosh.
