The original Apple Macintosh, predecessor of the Macintosh 512K was invented in 1984 by Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, and Steve Wozniak. On January 24th, 1984, Steve Jobs showcased this computer and kickstarted the series of personal computers to be globalled manufactured by Apple Inc. During this time, the Macintosh was extremely unique due to several factors. One, it was the first commercially successful personal computer that had features like the mouse and the graphical user interface. Two, it also had its own operating system call System Software, now renamed Mac OS, which was different compared to the common IBM PC computers who had to run another company's operating software for their PCs. This computer truly revolutionized the world of PCs, being the first personal computer with a price that many could afford and one that could be operated without any prior knowledge, and its future successors would also mimic these important features.
