Gottfried Wilhelm Von Leibniz was born in Leipzig, Germany on July 1, 1646. He created the basics of differential and integral calculus as well as a new formulation, better known today as kinetic energy, all of which are currently still used. His greatest invention for computing was his computer. He also created wheels which was a calculating device, inspired by Pascal which he tried to add automatic multiplication and division. He is credited with inventing the pinwheel calculator. He is also said to be one of the last polymaths ever. Leibniz died in Hannover, Germany on November 4, 1716.
