Around the 1970s, Large Scale Integration was developed. In 1971 these microprocessors were introduced by Viatron Computer Systems, made by the Mauchly-Eckert Computer Comapny. It made it possible to stack thousands of transistors, diodes, and resistors onto a silicon chip, thus creating the world's first microprocessors. Intel was an early pioneer in the microprocessor market, and they soon led the field. These microprocessors allows for many electronics to be mass produced, the first of which were personal computers then slowly more and more. Computers, cellphones, ATMS, and even cars are dependent on these microprocessors.
