George Boole was born on November 2, 1815 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England and is best remembered for his work in mathematics. A British mathematician and professor, at Queens College Cork, Boole was able to devise a basic system of logic that condensed complex thoughts into simple equations. He named this logic system Boolean Logic or Boolean Algebra and this helped pave a way into the computer revolution. In computer programming today, there is a heavy use on this Boolean logic where all variables are either true or false. George Boole died December 8, 1864 in County Cork, Ireland, but his legacy will be remembered. Without his theory on mathematics, there would be no computer programmers or modern-day computers today.
