Charles Babbage

Born on 12/26/1791 in London, Charles Babbage was one of the world's pioneers of computer technology. He created a simple programming language using punchcards, which was used in conjuction with his mechanical computer, the Difference Engine. His computer was the first mechanical computer in the world. After his Difference Engine, Babbage also designed another theoretical machine called the Analytical Engine.
